On 18 September 2025, representatives of the AIVET consortium met in Málaga (Spain) for a key Transnational Project Meeting, hosted by IT Solutions For All – ITSFA (ES) in collaboration with Arrabal-AID, associated partner of the project. The session brought together partners from across Europe to take stock of progress and collaborate on the next steps in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Vocational Education and Training (VET).

The day began with a warm welcome from ITSFA and Escola (PL), setting the stage for discussions on reporting, administration, quality assurance, and dissemination activities.

A major focus of the session was on Work Package 3, where partners Fundación Diocesana de Enseñanza Santos Mártires de Córdoba – FDSM (ES) and IALFVG (IT), together with the consortium, presented the AI training toolkit for VET providers and discussed the translation of training materials. This was followed by an update on Work Package 4, with ITSFA presenting the status of the AIVET Digital Warehouse, a pioneering online platform designed to host AI tools and training resources for the VET ecosystem.

The meeting also included a Green Workshop, reinforcing AIVET’s commitment to sustainability alongside digital innovation. Partners concluded by agreeing on the next steps to ensure the project continues to deliver innovative training models, strengthen digital competencies, and enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of VET across Europe.

The Málaga meeting marks another important milestone in the AIVET project’s journey to empower VET providers and learners with AI-driven solutions, paving the way for a future-ready European workforce.

Seven thematic modules developed to foster innovation and digital transformation in vocational education and training

The AIVET project consortium is pleased to announce a significant advancement in its mission to empower Vocational Education and Training (VET) educators and professionals with the necessary skills to effectively harness Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their teaching and administrative practices. Building on an extensive, collaborative needs assessment conducted across partner countries—Spain, Poland, Italy—and within the broader European context, the project has developed a structured, evidence-based training programme tailored specifically for VET settings.

The comprehensive training framework responds directly to the identified gaps and emerging demands revealed through the partners’ thorough skills intelligence and needs analysis. This analysis highlighted the urgent requirement for VET educators to gain both foundational knowledge and practical competencies related to AI technologies, while also embracing new pedagogical approaches that promote ethical, responsible, and innovative AI use.

The programme is organized into seven detailed training modules, each designed to address critical aspects of AI integration in VET education:

1. How to Use AI in the Classroom
   This module offers practical guidance and case studies demonstrating how AI tools can be integrated into everyday teaching activities, supporting enhanced student engagement and learning outcomes. It emphasizes hands-on approaches and real-world applications tailored to vocational subjects.
2. AI Basics for VET Teachers
   Recognizing the need to demystify AI, this foundational module provides educators with essential knowledge about AI concepts, technologies, and trends relevant to their professional environment. It aims to build confidence and familiarity with AI terminology and capabilities.
3. Using Data to Improve Teaching
   Data-driven decision-making is at the heart of modern education. This module explores how AI-powered data analytics can be used to monitor student progress, identify learning gaps, and tailor instructional strategies, thus fostering evidence-based teaching.
4. Creating Personalized Learning with AI
   Personalized learning pathways powered by AI can transform vocational education by adapting content and pacing to individual learners’ needs. This module addresses the design and implementation of such adaptive learning environments.
5. Making Work Easier with AI Tools
   Administrative tasks often consume valuable teaching time. This practical module introduces AI applications that automate routine work, allowing educators to focus more on pedagogy and student interaction.
6. New Skills and Topics for the Future
   To prepare learners for evolving labor markets, this module highlights emerging AI-related skills and thematic areas essential for future-ready vocational training.
7. Bringing Innovation to VET with AI
   Innovation is critical to maintaining VET relevance. This module supports educators and institutions in integrating AI-driven creative solutions to enhance collaboration, institutional development, and learner success.

Each module is meticulously mapped to ensure pedagogical coherence and practical applicability. The programme explicitly correlates with the original training objectives outlined in the project application, and features clearly defined learning outcomes tailored to the unique context of VET.

Importantly, the training content is linked with two key European competence frameworks:

• The EntreComp framework, which fosters entrepreneurial competences critical to leveraging AI for innovation and problem-solving in education. The rationale behind this correlation ensures that learners not only develop AI skills but also the entrepreneurial mindset to apply them effectively.
• The DigComp 2.2 framework, which ensures that digital competences remain central, supporting educators in achieving proficiency in areas such as digital content creation, data literacy, and digital wellbeing.

Furthermore, the programme addresses the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes, reflecting a holistic approach to competence-building that aligns with contemporary VET standards and promotes responsible AI use.

In line with AIVET’s commitment to accessibility and inclusivity, the entire training programme will be made freely available in an open access format, hosted on the official project platform at www.aivet-training.eu. To maximize reach and impact across Europe, the training materials will be offered in four languages: English, Spanish, Polish, and Italian.

This multilingual, open access approach guarantees that VET educators and professionals from diverse contexts can benefit from the programme, fostering cross-border collaboration and knowledge sharing.

The AIVET consortium believes that by equipping educators with these cutting-edge AI competences, vocational education systems will be better positioned to navigate digital transformation, enhance teaching quality, and ultimately improve learner outcomes—while safeguarding ethical standards and promoting social inclusion.
