The Erasmus+ project SELF – Solo Entrepreneurs Learning Framework, co-funded by the European Union, is proud to present its multilingual entrepreneurial curriculum developed within Work Package 3 (WP3).
Building upon the evidence collected during the European assessment activities implemented in WP2, the SELF consortium designed a competence-based educational framework specifically tailored to the realities, challenges, and opportunities connected to solo entrepreneurship and self-employment in contemporary European labour markets.
The curriculum was developed to support Higher Education students, young graduates, aspiring freelancers, and future solo entrepreneurs in strengthening not only entrepreneurial knowledge, but also the mindset, adaptability, confidence, and practical competences required to navigate increasingly flexible and digital professional pathways.
Inspired by the EntreComp framework promoted by the European Commission, the SELF curriculum combines:
- competence-based learning;
- modular training structures;
- practical entrepreneurial education;
- multilingual accessibility;
- and Open Educational Resources (OER) principles.
The educational pathway is organised around seven interconnected modules, each addressing a specific dimension of solo entrepreneurship and self-employability.
Module 1 – Understanding the defining components of self-employment
The first module introduces learners to the realities of self-employment and solo entrepreneurship within contemporary labour markets. The training explores both the opportunities and challenges connected to independent professional activity, helping learners better understand entrepreneurial pathways, labour market transformation, and the competences required to work autonomously.
Particular attention is given to:
- entrepreneurial awareness;
- opportunity recognition;
- self-efficacy;
- resilience;
- and risk management.
Module 2 – Self-brand building: identity, visibility and market positioning
The second module focuses on personal branding and professional positioning within competitive and increasingly digital environments.
Learners are guided through the process of:

- and building coherent market positioning strategies.
The module also addresses:
- creativity;

Particular emphasis is placed on avoiding burnout, improving efficiency, and strengthening self-management competences essential for long-term entrepreneurial sustainability.
