The Hypatia project, co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme, brings together four partners from Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, and Malta with the shared goal of addressing the digital gender gap.

The project aims to support housewives by developing an innovative digital literacy and female empowerment curriculum. Hypatia focuses on equipping women with practical skills to safely and consciously navigate digital technologies, while also tackling the challenges of gender-based online violence.

A key aspect of this initiative is the official launch of the Hypatia Open Educational Resources (OER) Platform, now live and available in five languages (EN, IT, ES, CZ, MT). The platform is entirely free and offers 24/7 open access to users across Europe and beyond.

Key Features of the OER Platform:

  • Free and Open Access: All content is available without the need for registration.
  • 24/7 Availability: The platform is accessible at any time, enabling self-paced learning and development.
  • Mapping the Digital Gender Gap: In-depth analysis of the intersection between digital literacy, socio-economic status, and geographic disparities.
  • Tailored Training Materials: Courses and resources designed to meet the needs of housewives from diverse backgrounds, with a focus on digital competencies, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • Docufilm: A compelling documentary highlighting the experiences of housemakers across Europe, an often-overlooked group in digital inclusion and gender equality discussions.
  • Continually Updated Content: New resources and tools developed throughout the project will be added regularly, ensuring the platform remains a dynamic and up-to-date learning hub.

Through this platform, Hypatia reaffirms its commitment to fostering critical awareness of the digital impact on daily life, empowering women with strategies to counter online threats and transform the digital world into a tool for personal and professional growth.
