The international project BAIT-HEI (Brilliant Artificial Intelligence Toolkit – Higher Education Instructors), implemented by a consortium of nine European institutions (Škoda Auto University, Comenius University Bratislava, HTW Dresden, IHF, IDP, Internet Web Solutions, Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, SOC Blended Learning, and the University of Dubrovnik), is funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and is successfully progressing in the implementation of its key activities. The project focuses on supporting higher education instructors in the meaningful and responsible use of artificial intelligence tools in teaching, the creation of study materials, and student assessment.
During the autumn period, project partners completed the activities within Working Package 2, whose main outcome is a comprehensive analysis and mapping of generative AI tools applicable in higher education environments. One of the key results is the digital tool AI-TRIX – an interactive online platform providing an overview of AI tools, their pedagogical applications, ethical aspects, and practical use scenarios. All partner organizations contributed to the development and content preparation through research activities, preparation of expert materials, translations, validation of outputs, and technical development of the platform.
The project is already demonstrating a significant impact on the academic community. Project outcomes have been presented through university events, professional meetings, social media, and online platforms, reaching thousands of educators, students, and other stakeholders across Europe. At the same time, the project promotes open access to education and supports the development of educators’ digital competencies, which are increasingly important in response to the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies.
Currently, preparatory work within Working Package 3 is being finalized, focusing on the development of educational courses and teaching materials building on the results of the previous project phase. Partners are jointly designing course structures, defining learning outcomes, and preparing content aimed at the practical application of AI in teaching across various academic disciplines. These materials will subsequently be pilot-tested with higher education instructors and students to verify their benefits and usability in real educational settings.
The BAIT-HEI project is thus entering its next phase, connecting research outcomes with practical implementation and supporting innovative approaches to higher education across the European academic landscape.
